A Chance to Live, A Chance to Thrive
Today in this world, people pray for everything.
Imagine the maker of time - the maker of this universe is listening just to you. What would you say? What would you like to say?
Let me put it in context for you. Your wife or your husband is in the hospital. Been in a coma for 8 years. The doctors have predicted that this person is going to come out of a coma for 5 seconds, and then gone. That's it. What would you like to say to them? Oh, by the way, you have been looking for the lawnmower. You have 5 seconds. And you love this person very much. What would you say? You would say what matters the most. Forget about the lawnmower. Forget about the will. Forget about the keys to the house. Just, "I love you."
There is a very simple reality when everything is going down. What is important in your life?
If my God was hearing me, what would I like to say? Just "Thank you." Not, let me pass my exams, not "Make me a richer man." Not, "Bring back Fido."
If you have to pray, then pray. And when you pray, then thank. Thank that maker for having given you a chance to be alive. "Thank you." To have given you a chance to exist. To have given you a chance to feel. To have given you a chance to be fulfilled. To have given you a chance to be in peace.
This is gratitude. When you say it, when you pray like that, you know your God is listening. Because you are immediately touched, and filled with the most incredible feeling within. Say it from the place where you really mean it. Because you have felt. Because you have understood.
This is not about beliefs. This is not about religion. This is about you being alive, dancing on the face of this earth today. When you were born, what religion did you have? And when you are gone, what religion will you have? We are talking about you being alive. Knowledge is about putting you in touch with that place inside. It is so simple. It is so simple that in it's simplicity, it is profound.

I feel truly blessed to have been part of an amazing event which took place on Sunday 2nd December 2007 in Johannesburg. It was an answer to a silent prayer which I have had for months; to be with Maharaji on his special day.
Like an addict searching for a daily fix, I would watch the video invitation to the San Deigo celebration. Each time I watched added a little more intensity to the overwhelming desire of wanting to part of this event. Little did I know that I would be part of this event and I would be with Maharaji on his special day, not in San Diego but in Johannesburg….because in the realm of the beautiful city of the heart, nothing goes unanswered!
Excitement filled the air as people streamed into the venue, the laughter and anticipation brought back a sense of nostalgia, reminding me of the atmosphere of the lobby area before the live events with Maharaji not so long ago. Having extended the invitation to everyone who wanted to be part of the event drew a capacity crowd of more than 500 people, with people travelling from as far as Secunda & Klerksdorp to attend the event.
As this was a celebration, there was a deviation from the norm of just watching DVD’s. Premie kids were enthusiastic to participate in the event and live performances were included in the program. They were eager to display their talent, and when one of the children asked me where Maharaji would sit, I realized that the enthusiasm came from their hearts and it was their way of expressing the love which they felt for Maharaji. It was a day filled with expressions of song, dance, beautiful DVD’s of inspiration, and an abundance of enjoyment. With each performance enacted with sincere heartfelt gratitude and appreciation. Together we celebrated and paid tribute to the manifestation of the yearning of our hearts, our truest blessing, our living master, remembering his generosity, his kindness and unfaltering love. As we sang happy birthday I could sense a profound feeling joy emanating from the hearts of everyone and it was in that moment that I felt his divine presence.
With the event concluded the lobby area was abuzz with an ambiance of serenity and contentment. As a token of appreciation each guest was handed a beautiful key ring with Maharaji’s picture. Five people expressed a keen desire to begin the process of the keys and are now watching key one.
This was a truly an incredible event, the first of its kind in South Africa and the beginning of many more. This event was the personification of the age old saying, that when the master and his students come together, true love begins and magic happens. The supreme bliss which we feel everyday, is the elixir of love and the sweet nectar of joy, which only the living master can bestow.
